The bus driver on my son's route has a safety vest that is included as part of his 'safety' kit. If he has a break down on the road he is required to have this vest on if he gets off the bus. These vests are also reflective for night time use. We had an incident a few years ago where a drivers was seriously injured and these vests have been mandatory since then. |

Bus drivers in our area keep a safety vest on board in case of a roadside emergency. Most of our routes require them to drive on well travelled roads and they have instructions to wear them whenever they have to step off the bus. |
