I live in Alberta, Canada, and as I was entering into Calgary, there was this 4x4 truck that swerved into the left hand lane from the right hand lane on a two lane divided highway and as he did I saw a school bus with it red lights flashing, but its left had yellow turn indicator was also flashing. I do not recall if it was moving or if it had it stop sign rolled out, but it was on the shoulder because I was on the right lane.
Is there a chance that I might get a ticket? Does anyone know the rules in Alberta with this situation. Please remember that the yellow turn signal was on on the left hand side flashing, at the same time as the flashing red lights.

The first rule of the road, is that if you see the red lights blinking on a school bus, you should NEVER go around the bus on either direction. You need to make sure that you stop, and wait while this is happening. Children could be coming from any direction, and if you cut by them, then you could easily hit a child. Children often do not look before they cross the street, so that is why they have this rule in place for their safety as well as your own. |

you shouldn't get a ticket, because it swerved into that lane. but i will tell you the rule for that situation. if a school bus has its stop sign rolled out, you aren't supposed to pass it, and if you do, you have to treat it like a four-way stop sign. if it just has its emergency flashers on, you are supposed to slow down and proceed with caution |
