I was told if you have farm tag 18,000 lbs or over you don't have to wear your seat belt, but i can't find this anywhere. I've had 2 highway patrols, and one city cop tell me this, but then I've have 1 city cop tell me that this isn't true and gave me a ticket for it. where would i find info. on this thanks.

You didn't give the state you are in, the laws for each state are different. You really need to contact your state department of motor vehicles and get a good answer, record the time of the call, and the persons name that answers, as well as the answer.
If they are wrong and you get another ticket, you can get it thrown out.
For now, assume the farm tag applies to driving off-road on the farm, and buckle up on the highway.
