I am quite short (4ft 11) and have constant problems with my seat belt which always seems to cut my neck. I am so sick of the fact that manufacturers allow for height adjustment for really tall people but not for someone who is quite short. I know that there must be loads of people who are my height and still need to drive without losing concentration to a stupid seatbelt in the neck. I went into halfords and was given something which turned out to be not suitable for adults - and it was so bulky that I couldn't steer with it in front of me anyway. I have tried pegs and just about everything else I can think of. Does anyone know of any product out there that could possibly help. We are going on a 6 hour long trip in a few weeks time and I am desperate to find something soon. Any help would be appreciated

Yes, I have the exact same problem, and I bought a little device from Betterware, which clips onto the bit of the belt that goes across your stomach and it has a kind of loop on it that you can loop the other bit of the belt onto and you can move it across so that the belt sits on your shoulder rather that cuts into your neck.

It only cost a couple of quid, best money I have spent, really works.

You can get a belt adjuster that fits to the 'lap' section of the belt, you then clip the shoulder strap into it so it avoids your neck. Try this, I got one for the child. Sit on a cushion (NOT a pillow) so you're seeing OVER the steering wheel. This is really helpful when making a proper stop at a limit line. Various cushions are available at www.harrietcarter.com

Also, check the belt tension adjuster on the sidewall. Many are adjustable up / down.

Also, keep in mind that if you are not seated properly and you have a collision resulting in airbag deployment, your face will be smashed by the airbag instead of your chest area. NOT GOOD!

The betterware seat belt clips that have been mentioned by others are great I always have a problem in the left seat particularly when I'm driving a left hand drive cars.
I've been using them for about 8 years I keep some spares in case one breaks but to date I never managed to break one, they will be the solution to your problem.
