Everyone should be made to take a drivers test
every ten (10) years after they get their license
for the first time.
Time and age will affect vision, motor skills and
judgement. But if everyone had to take the test
regardless of age, then the procedure becomes
a standard and not something that only old people
need to worry about. |

Yes, every single year and in some cases every six months. Its not an issue either that we aren't being fair to them, its a safety issue. |

Yes, driving with my grandfather (bless his heart I love him) but its scarier then drivig w/ a 16 year old, and you try trying to convince an old sicilian to just give up his license....not hapening, the dmv should do somthing |

Nationally, the 70+ age group are the worst drivers, followed by the teen drivers (under 20). I think all ages should have to retest for their license about every 5 years. MVD here in Arozona complains that they cannot do that because they don't have the manpower, but I think paying a nominal fee (5-10 every 5 years) would cover that, reduce injuries and fatalities, and make for better drivers, as they would be forced to have the correct lenses, know current traffic laws, and get a driving evaluation. |

I think at 65 they should have to start renewing every 2 years instead of 4... and for renewal have a physical like CDL drivers do, as well as take they test. I love old people and im just around the corner, but hey sometimes they dont realize they just dont have it anymore and someone has to stop them from hurting themselves or innocent people |

Hell yeah! And people shouldn't be allowed to drive until 18. Teenagers don't think about danger. They don't think that they could kill themselves or someone else-all they think about is driving 90 to nothing. |

A GREAT idea. I like the idea given that suggests a test every 10 years. Driving is a PRIVALEGE, and NOT a RIGHT, but that isn't how it's treated. Years ago, we tried to do something about an elderly man we knew who used to talk about how he BLACKS OUT, yet, he was planning a cross-country driving trip. We called the DMV, the Highway Patrol, everyone we could THINK of, and there wasn't anything we could DO about it. SOMEthing should be put into place as a PROTECTION for ALL of us. Nice question! Where do we RATE your QUESTION? |

Well, let's see. I'm 65, haven't had an accident since I was 22, haven't had a ticket in about 25 years, have vision that tests at 20/20, fly my own airplane, operate boats, pretty much do anything I want. Should I have to be tested like a teenager? Hmmm, do I smell age discrimination here? Oh, and any time you'd like to go to the race track and go one on one, you just let me know. |

Yes, I think so. There are lots to take into consideration though. Physical condition, mental condition, overall health. Not everyone is at the same physical level (spry) as others. There would be a lot to take into consideration before passing a 'law' about this. |

Personally I think EVERYONE should retake the written and on-the-road test every 5 years. |

No. Most wrecks are caused by male teens. Should they retake the test every year? You can not discriminate due to age. I do think they should give everyone dexterity and reaction tests. This way they would weed out the ones who really shouldn't be driving no matter the age |
