Should "P" Platers have more restrictions?

This is a debate topic i have just got and i would love some feedback regarding it positive or negative! This is regarding both red and green P Plates.

In the UK I don't think 'P' platers have any restrictions do they?

I know they is a 6 points (?) and you're out - as in losing your license and having to re-sit everything all over again.

The only things I can think of are common sense things which are:-

1) Not driving a car full of your friends as this can often be a huge distraction to the often new driver. Plus the addition of the extra weight affects the handling of the car.

2) Limiting the engine size so the max size is 1.2litre. Where I live we have lots of teens pass their test and get a 1.8 hatchback, zoom off and wrap it round a tree. But I suppose you can do that with any car really!!

I would go -ve, I mean how many more restrictions are we going to put on them? I think anymore and the whole thing would be a joke and therefore ineffective.

Yes and so should the younger drivers in the U.S. all of them need a lot more restrictions and additional training...
