Should the drivers exam be more difficult so new drivers are better educated and informed and thus reduce accidents and road rage since they will know better what is expected of them? Should the written test and the road test be one of the most difficult tests they'd take in their life so to either make better drivers or keep the bad ones off the road?

Definitely! There are too many people on the road who just plain ignore the rules. People should be required to retake the exam every 5 years. That way if you have slipped in ability and now pose a danger to other drivers, no matter what your age, the DMV can remove you from the road for the general safety of the public. |

I think that even when exams are hard and people pass them, they forget everything and think they become king or queen of the road after exactly one year of driving experience which is when all the accidents and negligence happen!!!!! |

Most of us who have been on the road for years couldn't pass a written exam right now. Experience is all that can teach them. |

i'm not sure what written test you're talking about. the one to get your permit?
i didn't have any written tests but the permit test and the one i took at the end of my drivers ed.
but these tests don't help with road rage. i have it. and what causes it is stupid drivers. the drivers that pull out infront of u then turn.
when my mom took the driving test she had to do paraell parking.
if they had that now maybe i could actual paraell.....i have bad judgement with distances when parking. |

well in toronto it is we have the written test than two road test one on the regular road and the other in the freeway it's much harder. |

the driving test should definitally be much harder, when I got my liscense many many years ago all I had to do was drive around the parking lot, It was the easiest thing I have ever done |

the drivers exam should be more like the exam to get your CDL but it still wont make people drive right |

it is difficult enough, but the examiners that are choosen are pretty flexible on the people who take it. Even the smallest details are suppose to be scrutinized, but the majority of examiners are too soft. In my opinion, the written test is also hard enough, although this may only apply to where i live (California). |
