With reference to daytime or in rain, fog lights,tinted blue,Halogen or Xenon lights on cars.

Easy answer, fog lights, illegal to use unless visibility is reduced to below your stopping distance by fog or other adverse weather, blue bulbs, illegal, car will fail MOT with blue bulbs and you can be stopped by police, day visible headlights are legal, as has been said, they are to aid visibility of cars during the day. And halogen & xenon lights are much brighter and clearer than standard headlights, great for the driver, but end up blinding anyone coming the other way! |

Daytime running lights allow you to see other cars. I remember when these first came out.
Halogen and xenon are cleaner and brighter and therefore let you see further at night, in the rain or snow.
The question is, how is NOT having these things "safe driving"? |
