Someone trying to steal my car?

so, my dad drives a bmw with a computer chip key and alarm on it. one morning he went to start his car and there was stuff jammed in the keyhole and it was covered in this pasty greasy type stuff... was some one attempting to steal his car? can a car like this be stolen in this way?

No, I think some one is just playing a practical joke on your dad
so he can not get in it or start it ( was it the door key or ignition switch
they did this to.) you did not say which one.
It would be very hard to steal that car or almost impossible.
They might have done it because they know it is a expensive car.
And probably they maybe a little jealous.
