You have been caught, speed cameras always flash twice, its how they work. They compare the distance on the two picture to work out the speed. You can expect a small fine as well a three points on your liscence. You will almost certainly not go to court, unless you challenge the fine/points.

The kind of cameras that flash from the front are more sophisticated. All the cameras flash twice to see what distance has been travelled between the flashes and at what speed. Most now use digital imaging. It seems very likely you will receive a fixed penalty notice - a fine of Â£60 and 3 points on your licence. The 30mph limit is there for a reason. A 5 year old child once ran in front of my car and I couldn't help hitting her. I was sticking to the 30 limit. She had only superficial injuries. If I had been ignoring the limit and doing 40, I would probably have that child's death on my conscience. Please stick to the limits at all times.

Some cameras take a photo of the front of the vehicle. I got 3 points and a Â£60.00 fine when the camera was facing me. It's a lesson learned. Don't forget to tell your insurance company when your letter comes through. You need to declare this, and they may hike your premium.

its an old myth that if a camara catches you from the front it is a fake or that you can say it is a breach of your human rights it is not.

you will most prob get a fine and some points if your lucky the camara may not have been loaded. unfortunately its very likely you have been busted another 3 points and you lose your licence

we all speed when we are not really not supposed to remember in new areas to keep delow the speed limit until you know there are no camaras in that area. speed limits of 30mph do seem a little silly when there seems like no imediate threat of hitting someone you have to be careful in the future and remember never ever speed around a school you dont need that sh*it on your concious

ok answer to your query.
there are many speed cameras in england.
some get you going towards them and some from behind.
i think you were flashed by a camera called a truvelo.
but these only flash once.
was there markings on the road like white lines every 3 ft apart?
if the camera name is called a gatso. these only get you from behind.
so if this type of camera flashed it was getting someone going the other way not you.
if you do not get a notice to fine you in 14 days after the offence (date on the notice from the police) they allow time for the post being delayed. then you are safe. if not you will get 3 points and a 60Â£ fine good luck

You will be fined Â£60 and have 3 points on your license. You can challenge it in a court of law but little chance of winning unless there were no signs warning you of speed cameras in operation. Good luck

If the camera was loaded then you will eventually receive a penalty notice. Unless you wish to appeal, and as you have already admitted you were speeding, you will be able to pay the fine by post.

you get 3-6 points and a Â£60 fine,depending on the speed...in a 30 limit the camera are set to go off at 33mph

sparky,your just being silly...they flash twice within 1 second this is used to exstrapilate the speed...

Gatso's clock your speed going past the camera and will flash twice taking 2 pictures.Truevelo can catch you coming towards and away from the camera they do not flash.Specs measure average speed between 2 cameras and do not flash.

When the camera flashed was there a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction? Other than that I can only think that it was a spurious flash.

Assuming the vehicle is registered to you then you must receive a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days of the offence,anything longer than that is out of time.

I travel on a road where the camera points the opposite direction of travel and it always flashes,
By the time it flashes a second time, you'll be alongside the camera, and it cant turn round to get your registration, so don't worry

If you're going 40 in a 30 limit, it'll only be a matter of time that the coppers will have a mobile unit waiting for speeders,and then you'll get done. If you're going a fair amount over the speed limit they can give you more than just 3 points and a fine e.g BANNED FOR A YEAR,plus a larger fine

The first flash is to light the background, the second flash is when the photo is taken.
