I got flashed on a empty road 30mph doing over 40mph. But camera was in opposite direction. Will i get a ticket? I thought the cameras only work if your on the same side as them. Couldnt this blind someone?
If im wrong, and the charge still applies, what kind of punishment can i expect? Only got 3points for parking on a zig zag, and am fairly young. I have license, insurance etc.

You'll find out within 30days if you get something in the post. If you were caught, expect 3points, and a £60 fine. |

no u will be fine as it was on other side of the road trust me i do it all the time i do it on purpose to seeif i can set the camera off its great fun should see the peoples faces on the right side of the road lol no need 2 worry |

the camera does not count if it is a normal gatso and there are no marker lines on the side where you got flashed. |

its just a warning to tell you that your speeding don't worry you will be ok! |

You should get the fine through the post within 14 days or it is invalid.If you do get the fine it will be £60 and three points |

I doubt it I did the same thing camera was on opposite side it flashed - no ticket.

No you will not be prosecuted
for that, Iv'e been flashed a few times
when ovrtaking and heading for a camera
that's facing me, no worry's. |

If you dont hear nothing within 2 weeks from the date you think you were caught then you cannot be prosecuted!
by law (english) they have to contact the vehicle owner within 2 weeks.
I know this as i was just caught speeding and checked out the website www.safespeedforlife.co.uk
Also if you do get a letter you can view the evidence (picture of your car speeding ) on this website.
The maximum fine you can get with out being taking to court is £60 and 3 penalty points what ever speed you were doing |

I think its unlikely you will be caught as the camera was facing the other way. However, if the camera did catch you it will not give a stuff whether the road was empty or otherwise- you will still get a ticket.

£60 fine and 3 points on your licence if you have been driving for less than 2 years you will also be banned and have to take your theory and practical test again |

There are usually several cameras that get you entering and leaving. The front is to get the driver in the picture of course. 10 over, that should be a 3 pointer. Watch your mail.
At 6 points you are halfway to the reward of turning in your license for a bus pass. |

I'm not sure what the traffic laws are in the UK (I'm in USA) but you SHOULD just get a warning. If you are really worried about being caught speeding, they make a reflective "spray" that you put on your license plate and when the camara flashes, your license plate just reflects the flash back making your license plate look like a big white spot in the picture. |

You will get fined like the others have said
If you have passed your test less than 2 years ago you will have to pass your driving test and theory all over again ,Not only that when you pass your test again the points you have carries on with your new driving licence I know because it happened to my son which i dont think was fair |

Are you in the UK? I think whether you get caught even though you were going in the opposite direction and what your punishment is will depend on where you were caught. Where I live, you'll get a picture of your car and license plate in the mail with a fine. No points because they can't prove it's you driving - might be a friend, family, etc. I think the fine increases exponentially with the number of miles over the speed limit you were going. |
