Don't listen to the first anser as the top speed of a Lamborghini Countach is barely above 170 mph, and don't listen to the guy with the 440 hemi charger since his speedometer was off. The fastest car in the world in the 70's, and i'm talking supercars would struggle to break 170
I went 86 mph in my 1999 Jaguar vanden plas supercharged |

Somewhere around 165 MPH in a 1973 Dodge Charger with a souped up 440 Magnum. Hard to be precice on how fast it really was because any spedometer is not accurate at this speed. The car had a 160 MPH spedometer and was buried.
Also went pretty fast in a 1964 426 Hemi Chrysler. I was a passenger. This car had a round spedometer. It would go past 120, past zero, and up to 40 MPH. Who knows how fast we were going. |

160mph in a 60mph limit...it was a long, empty, dry, straight road. I still had 2 gears to go but I bottled it...I was driving a TVR Cerbera...what a machine. |
