1. how do you speed up when changing lanes? do you have to speed up on ur lane first to go on the other, or speed up when you get into your desired lane or both lanes speed up? and then when you get into your desired lane im guessing you dont have to slow down, you can still accelerate if theres no car but if there is car duh you would have to stop? im talkin about all kinds of roads highway, local, residential
2. when changing lanes to the left and right how do you guyz do it? you dont need to tell me the correct way legally, just want to know how people do it in their own way.because surprising i just found out you also have to look in the rearview mirror, i thought that was for the back lol
3. when i drive in a speed limit zone, usually people are tailgating me and i want to know are they exceeding the speeding limit caz if im in a 60km zone, they are right behind me? are they speeding like going 64 -70km? or should i go faster and even on the highway im doing the speed limit and people are tailgating? are they exceeding the speed limit a little or alot? should i do that then? x

1. if you are changing lanes to pass somebody then you are probably going faster then them so i don't think you should have to change your speed much, but i, and most people i know, do. that way you arent blocking the other lane longer than you have to. as for how, it depends on the situation but you should accelerate as you pull out to pass, but not if you are really close then wait until your in the other lane to accelerate in case they suddenly brake or something like that. if they are an @$$ and accelerate beside you then, if on a highway (4 lane, 2 in one direction and 2 going the other) you could continue trying to passthem or you could slow back and move back behind them. on local, 2 lane roads, slow down and move back as there probably isnt enough room to "fight for the lead spot".
2. legal way is the best way. even after using both, side and rearview mirrors, glance over your shoulder out the window to see if there is anyone in your blind spot (it is huge and more than big enough to hide a car. you can probably find a diagram or something online)
3. if they are tailgating you then no they arent speeding, they were and could be waiting to pass when they can. legally i should say that no you should not speed even when you are being tailgated. but saying that lots of people break the law and go faster than the legal limit is like saying canada gets snow in january. as for the people tailgating you, if anything happens they are at fault. i would also lookup the laws in your area as i believe that tailgating is illegal (maybe a bumpersticker that says "i report tailgators" lol).
anyways, you should drive at a speed that feels safe to you (and doesnt break the law.) |

Be safe.
1. how do you speed up when changing lanes?
Normally you will be changing lanes at about the same speed. You may have to speed up or may speed down depends on traffic.
2. when changing lanes to the left and right ... mirror, i thought....
Mirrors can tell you at someone is in your mirrors.
Mirrors can NOT tell you at no one is in the mirrors.
Any that you travel than a straight lane: First check for your mirrors, if clear then turn your check head to see whether or not someone is actually there.
3. when i drive in a speed limit zone, usually people are tailgating...
If people are usually are tailgating then you are usually unsafe driving. You need to either drive to speed of traffic; or you need to keep to the slow lane; or need to drive off the road. |

Practice "Situational Awareness". That means that each situation may be different, and will require a different response from you. You must be aware of any and all dangers (or potential dangers), and know how to avoid them (when necessary).
