On Top Gear just now Clarkson was sat in a car that drives itself. I just don't see the point in that. What would you do whilst sat in the drivers seat of a self driving car ?

Incorporated with satnav technology and anti collision sensors this could cut down the number of RTC's considerably hopefully impacting on insurance premiums coming down and allowing the police to concentrate on real crime rather than driving offences |

In terms of the future of transportation, the car shown in last nights top gear is truly revolutionary.
There will come a time in the future when cars will drive them selves from point A to point B without the interventions of a human driver.
The possibilities are endless, for example why own your own car? You are not going to drive it so why not have a fixed number of car out on the road and when you need one you order it, it comes to you and then you tell it were to go and then of you go.

I agree. on first take i thought yeah, that'd be fantastic to get you to work on a hangy but it doesn't take into account waiting at junctions or traffic lights and roundabouts.
So yeah, on that bombshell, what is the point? |
