They will expect you to know the traffic laws of the state. Virtually EVERY question on the test is covered, somewhere in the little driver's handbook which is offered for free at every DMV office.
The same handbook also tells you what to expect at your exams.
And, before you groan about it being too much to read and understand, the ENTIRE California Motor Vehicle Code is about an inch and a half thick. The hand book is about one eighth of an inch as much of the space is taken up with pictures and diagrams.

DMV staff are required to check your eyesight before they will allow you to sit your written test.
According to their current guidelines, if you will be applying for a class A,B, or C licence, you will have to be able to see 20/40 out of both eyes, separately and together, with or without glasses or contact lenses.
If for any reason you do not pass the vision test, you will need to visit an optometrist to correct your vision before you can return.
DMV cannot allow anyone to proceed with the written test who may present a danger on the roads due to poor eyesight. |
