It would be the drivers responsibility. In the UK, the driver is liable for anyone in the car under the age of 14 if they're not wearing a seatbelt because it's not up to them to know better, it's up to you. With a passenger they could easily say you told them you'd been driving for longer or even that they assumed you had.

That depends. Is the passenger stoned or drunk too?

Is he/she hiding their (or yours) stash of weed, crack, Ice, or other illegal drugs?

Did the cops actually see you?

One of the ways I've found parents can legally kill their teenagers and save on college money, is to buy them a car. Especially something high performance way beyond their driving skills.

Easy, give the kid a car. Tell them not to speed, drink, or do drugs (RIGHT!, which you know they will ignore). Be sure to put a big life insurance policy on them for your early retirement plans and budget, hand them the keys and a 12 pack.

Now, pick up some brochures from the local funeral home for a casket or cremation. Now you are ready for them to die and collect your reward and never go to jail. After all, it was a teen driving accident.

Of course the drawback is, they could wrap the car around a tree, not die....but become a drooling vegetable from the brain damage or crippled for life in a wheel chair wearing pampers or depends.

So for the teens that your mama and daddy gave you that pretty drifting car, and don't say a word about you getting stoned or drunk, don't care if you do a bit of street racing, you think they are really cool for giving you the car, beer, and freedom. Are you sure they are not trying to "Bump you off"?

6 months for new drivers is not a bad thing. This way, regardless of age, you only get to kill yourself and not others that have families that would like to actually keep them.

Remember this, while your busy laughing, texting, yakking on the cell phone, messin' with the CD or DVD changer....who's watching the road while you drive?

They can't give the passenger a ticket, but they can take them to the station and call their parents to come and get them. This happened to me when I was 16 and riding with a friend who had the same restriction. I was told to get out of the car, because it was illegal for them to be driving with me in the car. Then the cops took me down to the station and called my parents to come pick me up. I would have rather paid for a ticket!

The passenger would not be in trouble. But they may have to walk when the driver gets pulled over and is given a ticket.

I dont think so. i think you would just get a ticket.
Where i live you cant drive anyone that doesnt live with you for 6 months. And my brother got into a little car accident because of the ice and stuff. So then the cop figured out that the 6 months wasnt over and he got a ticket for like 130 something dollars. It was only like 4 days off though. >.<
