Texas AMBULANCE requirements?

I've heard several times that it is a State of Texas law that A/C and heat are required in the patient compartment of an ambulance.
I can not seem to find this on any website if this is indeed true.

I will keep looking for a site but everyone that we work on "HAVE" to have a working A/C and Heater system for both the front and rear compartments 24-7-365 or the ambulance will not be put into service......I live in Texas.......

Update:::I checked with several companies that we do business with and they all told me the same thing.

The state of Texas has no laws for this at all however the Texas State Department of Health does and they require only rear A/C and Heating due to health reasons and the front is not required to have any at all.

I used to dispatch for an ambulance service in Texas and yes to my knowledge this is true. We could not send out an ambulance in service unless everything was in working condition and that meant the a/c and heating.

The Patient compartment has to be climate controlled even when the unit is not running. That means wherever you park it it has to have climate control. This is because equipment, supplies and drugs kept on the unit have to be climate controlled to ensure there viability. If you contact Texas DSHS (Department of State Health Services) they should be able to provide you with ambulance requirements or at least answer your question.
