I agree with the article. Racing up to red lights or stop sign or stopped traffic wastes gas. Coasting up to a red light or the car up ahead saves gas. Quick speed increases also wastes gas. Taking off gently when the light turns green saves gas. There's no point in speeding on residential streets or for short distances. Go the speed limit on residential streets and back roads. Set the curse control on the interstate. Keeping a consistent speed saves gas. And stay in the right lane when not passing and don't curse in the left lane unless you're passing slower moving vehicles. Cursing in the left lane will cause drivers to pass in the right lane, which may have little time or gaps of space to do so, so they'll waste more gas to have to speed up more to pass quickly and get back in the left lane. If everybody stays in the right lane except to pass, traffic will flow better. No weaving in and out of traffic and changing lanes frequently, which wastes gas.

How many different opinions could there be... obviously that study is correct, and obviously few people will change the way they drive because of an article. Some people cant help but to slam on their breaks when coming to every stop, they are just awful drivers.
