The road home is both icy and curvy, so be careful.?

Yes, you want to drive as carefully as you can. Whenever there is ice on the roads, accidents can occur. It is best not to drive at all on icy roads but if you must, then take your time. Don't speed, brake often and keep your car going at slow speeds. Secondly make sure you are prepared for these situations. Make sure you have good tire traction. Before the winter hits go to an auto shop or your dealership to make sure that the tires are rotated, or that they have the proper traction. Having tires that have enough grip can make a difference in addition to driving at slow speeds. Driving carefully in these situations can help deter more accidents and fatalities. |

Decrease your speed. Dont make any sudden moves. Plan ahead for all your maneuvers. Leave yourself more room for error, increase your following distance in case something happens to a car ahead of you. |

Slow down, take your time and keep you control inputs (steering, brakes and power) gentle. Doing something sudden is likely to break traction and cause a skid.
However, if conditions are dangerously bad you should probably consider staying home. |

1) Reduce speed by 50-70%
2) If the road is icy, drive in the ruts where the other cars have been.
3) Use brakes in spurts. Don't step hard on the brake or you will skid. |

Very good answers here.
May I add-keep BOTH hands solid on the wheel.
If you skid, try not to panic. Hopefully at this point you're going slow. Steer in the direction you want to go, while doing so hit your brakes very, very lightly and try aiming for something soft, i.e. a bush, if possible.
Personally if weather conditions are icy and you have no choice but to drive on a curvy and/or hilly road - I'd stay home.
Good luck and drive safe. |

Yes. Good idea. |

Get winter tires and be careful. 4 winter tires = cheap life insurance, in places where it may snow or get ice on roads. |
