This is been buggin me for years?

why say in a 5 mile stretch of road with traffic lights every 200 yds do people have to drive crazy and act like there getting some where, i will spot a car all the way home and be right with that car at the stop light, meanwhile that driver has put them selves through all that drama, do these drivers realize they have gotten no where and if they have i meet up with them at the next light. ONE MORE NOTE SINCE WHEN DID DRIVING BECOME A RACE I THOUGHT IT WAS TO GET FROM 1 POINT TO THE OTHER POINT AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE! personally i think the rules should be a lot harsher if your caught speeding 3 days min. in jail, i bet this would reduce 75% of the accidents!

I agree with one thing, and that is there is a problem with speeding. I don't agree that if you are caught speeding you should go to jail. Going to jail is only reserved for extreme cases. And even for repeat offenders the driver's license is revoked or they are made to do mandatory driving classes. I do agree that many drivers speed and it does contribute to accidents and even deaths. The problem is they are going so fast that they are really in a hurry to go nowhere. Now one thing that should be done is to increase the fines but no jail time. Just make sure you are driving correctly and not worry about the others. I understand your frustration though.

3 days in jail would cost the state a lot of money. That is 9 meals, electricity, food and guards to watch over. Not very practical. Plus, it would help teach a lot of young people bad tricks and would also cause more people to run from the police, causing a lot more accidents. The opposite of what you were thinking. If I was going 5mph over the speed limit and a cop rolled up behind me and I knew I was going to spend 3 days in jail (along with loose my job), I would bone out for sure!
If you can't pay your fine, you can work it off with jail time already.

I agree! well, maybe not with three days in jail, but the fines should be quite hefty!

Minimum $1000 speeding ticket...(doubled or tripled if you are in a school or work zone) Cant pay the hefty fine? Work your *** of doing community service, or loss of license, even better, The vehicle being impounded! people will STILL drive if they have their license revoked!. something like that.,. People need to learn that she street isn't a race track!

I cant lie... When I drive, I do (9 times out of 10) drive TEN kilometres over the speed limit but I am in control of my car..
My comments are directed to those who insist on doing 20-30KM over the limit... Weaving in and out of traffic to get a little bit ahead! Those that are "recklessly endangering" the lives of others...
