Throwing a penny at a moving vehicle?

First of all you should not be throwing anything at another car, that could of caused an accident and to be quite honest you deserve to of received the ticket.
When you go to court, you can explain to the Judge that you are not able to afford the ticket and see if they will give you community service.

Be smart and don't throw crap at a moving car or anything for that matter.

In my neighborhood a moron threw an egg at someones car last Halloween, the driver threw something back, a couple 9mm slugs, egg thrower got shot through the head and died.

Worse things could happen over conduct like yours especially now days. Live and learn.

Throwing anything at another vehicle is stupid, reasons range from scratching the paint to distracting another driver. If the vehicle is moving, it is possible to cause significant injury or damage. It the minimum, you threw something out of a car, you should be charged with littering as well.

Your 18. You can afford to act like an adult. Don't throw things at other vehicles, and pay the ticket. You do have a job, I hope!

You threw an object at another vehicle. It is totally irrelevant that you were not moving & you were at a stop light. It is a misdemeanor offense to throw objects at other vehicles, so act like an adult and accept the fact that you did something dumb & the police caught you.

Also, attempting to cause multiple delays of the court hearing is only going to piss off the judge & you MUST give very good reasons when you request any court continuances or the court will turn them down. So trying to play games with the court will usually backfire on you & you end up in more hot water than if you had just acted like an adult in the first place instead of trying to play childish games with the court.

id prolly go to court. its just kid stuff, we've all done it. be mature and sorry and all, but you might get a slap on the wrist or community service. (hoe the hell did he give your friend a ticket? i suppose he must have thrown something first huh?

18 year old, you are of age to vote/work/go to a bar/ I think persons of your age will have passed the stupid stage, I do not think I would be pleased if that coin would have hit me in the eye or a child's eye, if it came to that if I was a judge I would show you no Sympathy.

To add, how can you justfy your reply ucantcme? would have said that if this Idiot would have hit your child (If you have any) & the child would have lost their sight, the person has addmitted doing the act so why & try to justify what the person has done?

The first thing you should always do, no matter what the facts are, is PLEAD NOT GUILTY and ask for a court date.

You can do this by certified mail, going to the clerks window or going to the court room.

You are innocent until proven guilty so make them prove your guilt. Don't do it for them.

There are numerous ways they can screw up and your ticket will get dismissed. Also with a little preparation and help you can win at the hearing or before.

This will give you time to calmly consider your alternatives and make a better informed decision. It is also the first step in saving money on a fine.

The next thing you should do is delay the proceedings by getting as many continuances as you can.

Continuances are usually fairly easy to get for things like - you're out of town, can't get off work or you are sick etc.

Each continuance increases the chance that the officer won't be there which will result in your ticket being dismissed.

This happens 30% to 50% of the time depending on the court.
