Tinted car windows in the state of N.J.?

why is it not permitted in new jersey to have your front driver and passger windows tinted?

Understand New Jersey is not the only place, and the law-makers have several reasons.
One, they obviously believe it is for safety reasons, and the windshield and side windows are the sources of most of the visual information drivers receive.
It also makes it a lot easier for police to verify the driver isn't holding a weapon. A lot of police officers have been shot by people holding weapons out of sight.

Different states have different laws, and you just have to live with the laws in your state.
