Traffic ticket in Los Angeles...no right turn?

I received a traffic ticket for turning right on a street where there was a "no right turn" sign. I was behind a city bus at an intersection and the sign was not visible to me. It was an honest mistake. I have been driving for more than 30 years and never received a ticket. Can I fight this? Thanks for the advice.

So you went around a bus and turned right? You can fight it but you will not win. Going around a bus isn't going to make any judge happy.

Hi, I don't know how your area works but I would suggest appealing to the local courts and tell them that it was an honest mistake that you couldn't see the sign right then. Hope you get it all worked out!

You can always appear in court to see if the officer shows up. If he doesn't the ticket will be dismissed. If it was not a traffic cop you have a 50/50 chance. If the sign was blocked in any other way take a photo with you.

No you won't win, because you should have been far enough behind the bus, such as one car length for every ten mph! So if you would have been, then you would have pulled up to the corner after the bus turned, made a complete stop since the traffic signal/sign was there, and you would have seen it. You were following to close to the bus!

You can try to fight it, but remember: "Ignorance is not an excuse for the law" Best bet would be to pay it and go to school so it doesnt show up on your driving record.

Yes, you can fight this. But will you win, no.

there are many things you can do to fight the ticket. Saying you are a good driver and you made an honest mistake is not the best way to attack the problem. If you decide to fight the ticket you need to do a trail by declaration. This gives you multiple chances to beat your ticket because it forces the officer to perform certain tasks and respond to court inquiries. If they don't you will beat the ticket. www.tickettutor.com is a good site that might help you.

If you tell the judge that, his response will be: "If you could not see the sign then you were following the bus to closely" or "tailgating" in which unfortunately doesn't help your chances either!! Signs are placed high enough that if you are following at the proper distance behind for school bus you would have no problem seeing it

If possible, go to the intersection with a camera, and try to tale a photo of what was visible to you from your car to take to court. I would fight it if I were you, I think you have an excellent chance of winning this case. I think you should have been given a warning, not a ticket.

You cannot fight for this. What I mean is, you can but you will lose.

You can fight that they need to make the sign more visible so other people behind a bus won't make the same mistakes and prevent some fatal accidents.
