Does anyone know what the rules are in the UK for carrying loads in the boot of a car which doesn't allow the boot door to shut? I have to pick up a cabinet from 20 miles away which I know wont fit in my Astra without leaving the boot door open (probably about 50cms will be sticking out of the back. If I strap it in correctly - is that enough? I don't want to pulled up by the police.. thanks

You will be ok as long as none of your lights and indicators are obstructed and you are not covering your number plate. Also as long as the boot lid is securely strapped down , there should really be no problem. Best of luck and safe driving.. |
