Turning left on double solid line?

Can you make a left turn into your "home" driveway when there is a Solid double line in your street? Is that an exception to do so? I know you can't do it for any other reason but i'm not sure if it's okay if it's your home.

Why should it make any difference if it is your own home driveway or not. Either the law allows you to make the left turn, or it does not.

In California, left turns across a double yellow line is permitted. Not passing, but left turns.

I'd like to know where people are getting this silly idea that a solid line means you can't make a left-hand turn. The line prohibits PASSING. Did you guys not pay attention in class?

If it is a normal double-solid line, meaning two lines close together, you are allowed to turn left into a driveway.

If it is the lines are a wide distance apart, creating a space like a median, but not raised, then you are not allowed to turn left.
