Chillax! The local Highways Department want to see how much traffic is using the road, to see if it warrants widening, or the speed limit changing on that stretch. As vehicles roll over it, their passing is recorded. |

These are traffic counters. Every time a car drives over them it records it and what time it drove over it. These help measure traffic flow and are usually placed if they are going to build a new store or expand in the area or the road |

Sometimes they are to do a traffic count to see how busy a street is. Some people that are thinking of opening a business hire people to do this to see how much traffic the area receives. |

I am guessing that they are counting the number of people who travel that road. It is not uncommon. |

I've seen those all over random roads. I think they are measuring how many people are using the road and how fast they're going. |

They are not police related, but they measure the amount of cars that drive over them and there speed. If you drive by again, you will probably be able to see a black box or something in a ditch near the strips. Thats what records the data. |
