yesterday, i hit a deer with my chevy lumina... when i hit it i ran it over and it broke off a vacuum canister underneath... would it be safe to drive without it on ther?

Never seen a vacuum can under a car.
It stores vacuum like a battery stores electricity.
Your AC and heater vents for the most part work
with vacuum.
Under hard acceleration, the engine does not make adequate
vacuum, without the vacuum canister/ reservoir your vents
would act weird.
If you have ever stepped on the gas in a real old vehicle while
the windshield wipers are operating, you would know what
I mean.
They will slow way down or even stop operating,till you ease
off acceleration.
Your vacuum vent controllers are spring loaded one direction,
if they loose vacuum, they will move back, and it would seam that you had adjusted a vent setting when you actually hadn't.

Some emission systems require vacuum to work.
Do ask someone if what you broke off was actually your vacuum canister.
Other than the AC/ heater not operational, If the car seems to
function ok,ie. not running like a piece of c***, go ahead and
drive it.
