I recently received a violation ticket ( I live in BC). The only real issue with this is, if this ticket goes through I may be suspended, and that will hinder my job and education. After getting advice from relatives they told me to look for mistakes. After researching my ticket I found one. In the violation description it says "Speed PAST municipal sign" Instead of the correct ICBC term "Speed AGAINST municipal sign". Is this enough to get me out of this ticket? If not please give me advice.

That wont be enough but rather talk to the Judge.....
Your best bet is to get right to the point, be honest, don't be argumentative, explain your situation and what this hardship will do to you..
If you mention that you will be willing to do something in lieu of paying the fine, like community service or anything to show that you're not asking for a free ride I would say that your fine or punishment will be reduced.. |

Not a hope in heck!
In actual fact that is merely a name, you actually violated Section 146 (7) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
If you are that close to suspension, it seems you haven't been too worried about driving within the law in the first place. Throw yourself on the mercy of the court, you merely look silly if you try to weasel out of a ticket in such a picayune way. |
