It is a blood and urine test mainly to see if you are a heavy drinker or drug user......so take neither for a full 3 days before test |

Shouldn't have been dumb enough to be banned in the first place... but no it isn't harsh. I reckon its just checking to see if you drink extensively or if extensive drinking has caused you to damage your health to a degree that you shouldn't drive. Or you are going blind etc. what the problem with that? I haven't been banned from driving and would happily have a medical every 2-3 years. Its free innit? |

The medical is to establish if you have drunk excessively during the three year ban, if you have you will not get the and yes the tests can detect old alcohol or drug abuse. |

You do not state why you were banned for three years. It must have been something serious. Was it because you had a physical disability which caused you to lose control of the vehicle? If this is the case the medical will establish if you are able to drive without endangering either your self or other people. On the other hand if you were found guilty of dangerous driving or driving under the influence of drink or drugs. Oops I just read your additional details. In which case do you still drink & drive? It's entirely up to you.£120 and a 3 year ban is a hard lesson |

More info would be helpful...what were you banned from driving for?
Are you talking about a medical exam? If so they're probably just checking to make sure you're able to drive..I wouldn't worry about it it's nothing serious. |

Personally, I would throw your licence away, it's not like anyone doesn't know not to drink and drive.
Lecture over.
As harsh as is needed to try and keep our roads safe and keep drivers that are a liability off of the roads. |
