The two hardest things that I recall were:

1) Driving at night
2) Driving with friends in the car- I highly recommend keeping your friends out of the car until you are comfortable with driving. If you are already nervous behind the wheel, having friends in the car to distract you isn't going to help at all.

To keep from going into the other lane, keep both hands on the wheel and pay attention to the road ahead of you.

Friendly Stranger..
When I first began the driving experience, I was nervous like you are now. It wasn't very hard but it was new to me because I had never driven a car before. I had only seen others do it. It is perfectly normal to be nervous about driving, and even make mistakes. Its all apart of the process. Don't be embarrassed about it. It is what all new drivers go through. It takes time to get used to driving. Driving is a technique that you have to perfect. Getting better won't come overnight. You have to practice every chance you get if you want to be a better driver. As far as changing lanes or "drifting", that also comes with time. I remember when I first started, I couldn't keep my car in the correct lane. The best way to keep yourself in your lane you need to have both hands on the steering wheel at all times. Overall, practice is the best key here. If you must practice on less populated streets to get the feel. Don't worry so much, you'll get better but it comes with time.

no not really

No it was really not because I had a lot of practice time before taking the test and once on the road everything just can together.

As for your situation you need to get more practice and try harder to center the vehicle in your lane..

In time you will be doing it...
