What's the safest car to buy for a teenager?

If you have the money, mid-size to full-size sedans are the best for new drivers.

They're large and give you good crash protection, but they're still easy to handle and not too powerful for you. Something like a Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Passat, Subaru Legacy or even something as big as Chevy Impala.

1976 chrysler IMPERIAL. They have been banned from most demo Derby's because they are indestructible. Other than that get a big, cheap car, Teens are rough on their first ride. Also helps to make them pay for it and the maint. that way they respect what they drive.

Subaru Impreza and or Forrester. 4 wheel drive. Airbags on driver, passenger side and side curtain airbags. Enough room for 4 and or 5.

Honda Civic is a good car. So is a Mazda 3.

A 4-door sedan would be your best bet for safety and less cost for insurance rates...

Learn to drive correctly first then either buy them something else or let them buy something themselves...
