No criminal intent it seems here...Child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter would be very appropriate...Hard to prosecute poor judgment in this case...It is very apparent that the adults knew nothing of the operational characteristics of the vehicle - that a vehicle can be lethal even when its not moving...Neither the government nor the manufacturers put any emphasis on the dangers of motor vehicles...It is up to the drivers to figure it out for themselves.

Blame could be placed with the driver, the manufacturer and the federal government (NHTSA)

I AM NOT ONE TO JUDGE,BUT TO DIE FROM CARBON MONOXIDE POISIN TAKES A WHILE,PLUS WHY DID ALL 3 ADULTS GO AND LEAVE 2 CHILDREN ,AND WHY DID THEY LEAVE JEEP RUNNING???????DOES NOT SOUND LIKE NO ACCIDENT TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You never leave kids that young alone period. One of the adults should have stayed with the kids just for general safety. The idea of leaving the car running with kids in it just makes me shudder, again an adult should have stayed.

Not only could it have been avoided, it should have been avoided by common sense.

Leave the kids for someone else to steal them this time and age? NO. Unless the children were severely hurt and couldn't be moved themselves is the only time you leave an accident. IT doesn't sound like an accident, it sounds just like they were stuck. And if they were mudding, they should have known how to get out by using nearby materials like wood, large limbs, using a tow on the front of the jeep, etc. You don't go mudding without the correct 'tools' right? DUH, it's like being out on the water w/out a flare or enough gas to get back to the dock. Or going fishing w/out bait or a pole.
THINK. And a Jeep -- Everyone knows a Jeep isn't that seal proof. DUH. It's JEEP. IT's not made that way. Those canvas covers it has for windows, etc, aren't like hard windows today. But even if it's the newere model jeep, still, it takes a long time for carbon monoxide poisioning OUTSIDE in the opening. With the wind blowing and all. Now they have to pay for their mistakes. It's horrible. They will have to live with it for the rest of their lives now. What a horrible scar to have to live with. The way people are today, you never know, it sounds like they may have wanted to get rid of them. who knows. People do crazy things today. But it's just aweful. Something just doesn't sound right. Mothers just don't leave their children in their right minds. I don't care how things go. IT's NOT NATURAL for a Mother to leave her child, it's just not. Even the Bible says this.

Charge the adults with involuntary manslaughter plain and simple, murder would be better but I dont think it would stick and either way they need some time in prison to think of what they did, sorry to here about this.
