As long as the kid has their own vehicle, their own insurance, pays for their own gas, drives like they have some sense..... no, wait. I saw that on tv once.
The only advantage I see is that Mom and Dad don't have to deal with dropping everything to play fetch for little Princess Britney Wannabe while she's parading around like Paris "don't hate me" Freaking Hilton because the spoiled rotten little b***h runs the freakin house!
Wow, that felt good blowing off all that steam. |

Higher Insurance Rates, Wreck Car within the first year of driving. oh you said pros |
|

loves christmas lights
 |
Absolutely none. Not one thing. They are most likely to hit someone and have no insurance and the person they hit now has to pay for their own car repairs and if its a total out, they lose thousands of dollars of value on their car. There is not one reason a teen should drive these days at all. Sorry, once you lose a car due to careless and underexperienced drivers you will totally understand. |

To be quite honest, I'm fed up with age discrimination regarding young drivers and the stereotypes that seem to follow. Whilst I realise that some young drivers may abuse their privilege to drive, a lot of young people REQUIRE transport in order to get to work. This was certainly the case for me. I worked hard, drove carefully and paid for everything MYSELF. Not only was I lumbered with extremely expensive insurance costs but often older people at my workplace would comment on the fact that younger drivers are the cause of all evil and accidents. Once I even got stopped by the police because I looked 'young' with no further reasoning.
Every time in which I have almost been in an accident has been a result of other people's careless driving, often so called 'experienced' drivers not paying full attention. This included bus drivers, taxi drivers and middle aged males. Age has absolutely nothing to do with a person's competence, it's the mindset of the person coupled with their mental and physical ability. So stop placing people into stereotypes like 'women are bad drivers', and start treating people as individuals. If I had no access to a vehicle when I was younger, I would not be where I am today.
Whilst I'm on the topic, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with the parents of children paying money to make their child's life easier. I have recently been blessed with a child and I will ensure all of you who aren't in a similar position that you will feel an obligation to PROVIDE for your child to give them the best life possible. So, once again, stop complaining about young drivers with nice vehicles, yet do complain if that child as an INDIVIDUAL is rude/spoilt or reckless.
Otherwise go back to the 20th century with your old fashioned, discriminatory views and do the rest of us caring and honest people a favor. |
