What are the laws for having neon lights in the car in Michigan?

I know you can't have then on while driving, but you can have them on if your car is parked. But i know there has to be more rules than just that. Like can you drive in a parking lot with them on. Or do you HAVE to have the car in park? Anyone know?

They are intented for show use only.

Which means they are illegal for use on the street or public parking lots, while in motion.

So if your parked in a Farmer Jack parking lot and have them turned on you could get ticketed.
But if your in a trailer park (privatly owned) you can do whatever you want

I am in Michigan and have installed many aftermarket items for people and I always inform them of the laws reguarding the parts installed and when they can use them.

Other lamps or reflectors can only be on a moving vehicle if they are both covered and unlit. Therefore, it is unlawful for a vehicle to have neon ground effects lighting unless the neon tubes are both covered and unlit while the vehicle is driven on the highways of this state.
