we make sure we post the signs so that your driving a safe speed for your safety and those around you ! as far as where you drive,if they care they will show it by putting up the right signs.the speed limit is based on a few factors,mainly on the average driver being able to stay in control during there drive Thur the area there in.but in basic it's all about staying safe ! in construction on highways and interstates we go by the US-DOT regulations on the most part,the final speed drop is up to the lead worker on the job.my self I know it's not to safe to drop a speed from 75 to 65 then 55 and at last 45.I would rather make my last drop at 55,and keep my people in side the coned area.most people don't look or read the signs so the more you drop the speed the better chance for replacing the road work sign to a accident ahead sign.but for short it's all on safety. |

I'm not sure about mobile home parks (probably 20 mph), but residential is usually 25 or 30 mph, construction zones are usually 45 mph, 2 lane highways are usually 55-65 mph, and expressways/freeways are usually 65-75 mph. |

It depends on where you live. Speed limits vary according to the location and situations. Some will change when construction is in a area and change again when construction is finished. Some neighborhoods have slower limits for wheelchair residents and/or the deaf or blind. Some times the limit may change after a few blocks. Some people call them "speed traps." Look for the posted signs.
