You pretty well covered it
but I will tell you my views on
people who drive drunk
As you said its stupid,
because taking a life it needless
I don't mind people going to a party
to celebrate but they don't have to get
behind the wheel after some drinks.
I celebrated when I got to level 5
one week later top contributor
then celebrated when I got to level 6
but I didn't drink to excess.
What I am saying is one doesnt have to
drink to celebrate.
If one were to drink at a party
then get behind the wheel
they wont be around anymore.
Drinking and Driving:
If a person drink then drive
then get in an accident
the driver can be charged
lose his or her license or have
the license suspended.
lose point off their driving
if the injured dies then the driver
can face serious charges. |

There are reasons why it is illegal... and I agree with them!!! Drunk driveing kills too many people in this country. |

I totally agree. If you want to risk injury or death to yourself that's one thing but nobody has the right to risk death or injury to anyone else. |

I have too many friends who have lost their lives for thinking it was okay to have a few beers and get behind the wheel. I think it's dangerous and very stupid. When my friends and I go out, we either take a taxi or designate a driver. Be safe. |

Anyone caught DUI or DWI (including drugs) should immediately be sentenced to five years, no parole, pay a $10,000 fine and their license revoked forever. Thanks for asking. Good luck! |

When people do that they are not thinking straight and some sober person should take away thier keys!!!!!! If they know they are going out partying....then they should think ahead and make sure that they won't be driving!! They could kill someone or be killed themselves.....I knew a girl who was only 24 that died because she was driving drunk. Left behind a 3 year old son!! Soooo Sad!! |

Of course it is stupid. What is the point of putting someone else's life in danger because of a few drinks - not to mention your own life. Best case scenario: Luck is on the side of the drunk driver, and (s)he makes it home in one piece without damaging or killing someone; Next best: (S)he gets pulled over - oops, now you have a DUI/DWI under your belt...so on and so forth.
It is ridiculous. Manage the drinking or take a cab. |

It scares the Ba-Jesus out of me. Unfortunately, it is not based on what is reasonable. It is determined by emotion, or maybe stupidity. The best defense is a strong offense. Stay off the road during the hours that the drunks are out; usually midnight to 5am. Drive the biggest, meanest vehicle with the most air bags, so if a drunk driver hits you, you'll have a fighting chance (the bigger the vehicle, the more it can absorb the crash energy, and not hurt you as much, but expect to pay more for gas).
Take a defensive driving course. Be the best driver you can be, so if you see a drunk coming your way, you'll be able to swerve out of the way without loosing control of your vehicle.
Join MADD -- Mothers against Drunk Drivers. I think since the laws have toughened from what they used to be, it has helped cut down on drunk driving. At one time, you could practically deliberately run someone over, and if you were drunk the only penalty was a slap on the wrist -- legalized murder!
Anyway, that's some of what I think of drunk driving. I thank my higher power for covering my sorry *** the times I shouldn't have been driving and didn't hurt myself, or worst, somebody else. |

Why would anybody have any need or desire to drive a car while inebriated or high on drugs? Is anything or anyone that important to get to that it's worth risking your life or someone Else's? I just don't get it. Driving is a an honor not a "right". |

I am a recovering alcoholic, and I can tell you from 1st hand experience how bad drinking and driving is. The thing is, for years I drank and drove and never had an accident, never got pulled over, I never even had a close call. But I also live in the middle of nowhere with hardly any cops, or any traffic at all after 11pm. Anyways, the more times you do it, the higher your chance of killing someone else is. And everytime you do it successfully, you get more confident and don't think of it as a big deal.
Now that I am sober, I realize how bad it really is. And I look back and thank god I never hurt anyone, I would not be able to live with myself if I did.
Another tip is this: Buzzed driving can be even more dangerous than if you are completely drunk. When I was drunk, I would realize that I was, so I would drive very slow and very cautious. But when you are buzzed you do not think you need to worry about your driving, and you may even drive faster than normal, this is when most accidents occur.
So I am not promoting drunk driving, I am just saying Buzzed driving is just as bad, and in my opinion even worse. |

It is stupid, but, how many times do drunk pedestrians walking out in front of you or falling off the pavement (sidewalk) cause accidents
I'm not trying to justify drink driving or driving when drugged up, but driving whilst tired causes a lot of deaths as well
Funny thing is: why do pubs all have car parks? |

the electric chair would be too easy on them. they should get the same sentence as if u were to go out and shoot someone in cold blood. there's no excuse for drunk driving. |

MY IDEA WOULD BE JUST LIKE THEY DO FOR DISABLED VETS OR DISABLED PEOPLE BUT WITH A TWIST...
ON THEY’RE LICENSE PLATES IT SHOULD START OUT WITH LETTERS (DD) DRUNK DRIVER AND SOME NUMBERS AFTER IT, LIKE DD-2367.
THIS WAY EVERYONE WOULD KNOW THAT FIRST THEY ARE A CONVICTED DRUNK DRIVER AND SECOND TO STAY AWAY FROM THAT PERSON. |
