To never hold a child on your lap in the car. My friend found out the hard way when we were in a crash (I was a passenger in the back) My friend and her 3 month old went through the windscreen. The baby died, she survived. The cause for the accident........ The driver was looking for her cigarettes and slammed into a car at the lights as she wasn't watching the road. Lessons learnt? 1.Make sure everyone is restrained. 2 Don't smoke whilst driving

Not to drive tired, I fell asleep, ran a red light and woke up as I was hitting the curb...I was very lucky my car was the only thing hurt.

What I learned is that certain intersections are DANGEROUS and I need to learn drivign routes that not take me through them.

What happened is I was at stop sign at bottom of hill ... I could see traffic starting down the hill from up top, but a truck was parked blocking my view of immediately traffic before the intersection. I watched groups of cars and gaps between them, coming down the hill then into the blind spot behind the parked truck, the timed my move into a hole between cars that I calculated was coming my way. Flaw in plan was that other people trying to turn from places between me & top of hill & I could not see them.

I should never have tried to turn when that truck was blocking my vision. Time to drive backwards, find a place to turn around, find another route.

Be a defensive driver, and expect the unexpected.

I was driving through a green light when somebody took a left turn in front of me. I didn't expect it so I didn't even get a chance to slow down. Luckly nobody was injured.

Not to let other people drive your car while you sleep... Not to drive on ice... Not to follow to closely to the person in front of you... Check your blind spot when you're merging onto the highway... the list goes on and on...

That sometimes there isn't a darn thing you can do to stop an accident from happening. I also learned that the fire truck tends to arrive before the ambulance, It's okay to take your foot off the brake after an accident, back board stretchers are really uncomfortable, and that I'm a damn lucky person to not have been injured.

stay alert, never take your eyes off the road, watch out for stupid kids that don't know how to drive.

To drive safe...Ive never been in a car accident... but Ive been in a buggy accident and I know to watch where i am driving from that experience...if thats what you mean.

That you can never be TOO safe. Life is more important than a piece of property that can be replaced.

People love their expensive cars so much that they forget the value of life and how you can never have enough money to replace the life of someone no matter how rich you are. How there's much responsibility to take when you are in the driver's seat and how much it is up to us as responsible drivers to take precautionary steps to prevent the death of a human being.

It makes me wonder if I could've went back in time and undo the mistakes I've done that lead to an accident. It leads to regret, sometimes regret of not doing something or doing something that could've altered drastic events that affected me in an emotional way.

That other drivers, especially women with kids, are more concerned with their own little world than paying attention to what's happening on the road while driving.

Don't try even though it is small risk. We can not judge other drivers always. If you feel it will go wrong use brake. Be careful while shifting lanes. Left to Right or Right to Left.
