I wanted to know what people keep in their car at all times. For either emergencies, necessities, electronics, etc....

I think one of the essential things to have your car would be a first aid kit. That is key because if you are ever injured and stranded you should have a kit to help you in the midst of an accident if you cannot get to the hospital right away. Also emergency flares. You may never know if your car will suddenly break down. A blanket for the cold. There have been instances when drivers were stranded in the cold, and have died due to hypothermia and they didn't have a blanket. Finally, having a spare tire is a good idea. If you have a flat tire and know how to change your tires, having a spare one can save you money and time. |

In winter:
Small shovel
Small bag of kitty litter (in case it snows at the train station where I parked and it hasn't been plowed yet. Kitty litter's good for traction under the wheels). |

tools: jack, 4 way lug wrench, grease gun, various pliers and wrenches, 3 types of screwdriver.
spare parts: wiper blades, headlights, tail/brake and turn bulbs, serp. belt, coolant, oil, 80w90, ATF, DOT3
funny thing is, thats just my car, my bronco has like 10 times as much stuff in it... i could pretty much rebuild the whole snowplow pump on the side of the road. |

I always have garbage why? because my children go with me everywhere I go and they don't care about keeping the car clean. |

Window scraper thing, a map in the glovebox, and not much else. I keep my car basically empty. |

Jumper cables, trauma kit, reflective vest, flashlights, traffic cones, extra water, antifreeze and oil, a bag of kitty litter now that the weather is getting cold and a couple of old blankets.
I also have your average stereo, a scanner, 2-way radio and headlight strobes.
This is in a 1993 Ford Explorer 4x4. It's a work vehicle.

I always carry a blanket, my dummy tire, my jack, spare fluids (oil, antifreeze, and windshield washer fluid), and my safety pack.
My safety pack includes: Jumper Cables, Tow rope, first aid kit, flash light, batteries, and a backup battery for my cell phone |
