What do you think "Drunk Drivers" should remove from the law or not?
Please Give me the reason and detail.

Once is a mistake, 3 year suspension, 180 days in jail and forfeit the vehicle, $25,000.00 fine
After that it's a habit. Lifetime suspension, 10 years in prison and forfeit the vehicle, $100,000.00 fine.
Double the prison time with each conviction.
No restricted licenses, time done day for day (no good time credit)
Do the crime, do the time!
I've cleaned up after too many of them in the last 40 years. |

No it should not be removed from the law because these people are a threat to people. By driving drunk they are endangering the lives of others. |

Selfish idiots and potential murderers.
Of course the law should apply to them
What is their attitude? I know I am drinking: I also know it will seriously affect my reactions and driving judgement, but I can handle it. I also know I shall probably use my car when I am drunk.
But I must have another drink. I won`t kill anyone if I drive.

drunk drivers should loose their license for at least a year so they learn from their mistake, if they hit someone else they need to be punished more |

Here is the Max Cruise law regarding driving while intoxicated or under the influence.
Upon arrest your car is seized and you forfeit you driver's license for three years. If you need car for work, tough. If you owe on the car, tough. If you declare bankruptcy, the auto loan, like student loans, does not get written off. You will still owe.
If you are caught behind the wheel the second time, you go jail for six months. During this time, moneys collected from the auctioned off seized cars will be used to get you dried out and sober.
There are no plea agreements, no back room deals, no nothing. Do the crime, pay the penalty.
I don't care if a person drinks. Don't care one bit. Just don't get behind the wheel. Why is that so hard?
Too many lives have been lost due to drunk driving. None needed to be lost. |
