The side of the road between the white line and the guard rail or edge of the pavement is called the shoulder. When you see one of those signs it means that there will be workers close to the white line and you should watch out for them so you don't hit one of them. Hope I have been helpful. |

If you have the time...pull off the road safely, park and wait a few minutes. A licensed masseuse will come and give your shoulders a great massage. OR...it means that some crew of road workers is up ahead performing some sort of work on the side of the road. Just slow down and keep your eyes open and watch for them. |
