Nothing is set in stone. They could also decide to do a "safety check" on your vehicle right there and then and nail you for other infractions. So, is it really worth the bother? Go on punk-make their day. |

To start with, it won't be an SP30 if it was a 70mph limit.
Secondly, it depends on a lot of factors like if it is a fixed penalty or if it is dealt with by the courts. How do you know you were 23mph over? A guess or have they written to you.
More importantly, at 70mph a vehicle travels 31metres per second. Go and walk 31metres.
Now ask yourself how long it would take you to stop the car in an emergency at that speed.
Now ask yourself why you were breaking the limit by about 30%.
The fine is the least of your problems. |

Unless on a motorway you will get SP30 - which will undoubtedly be 3 points and £60 fine. However, you might get off the points by being offered a speed awareness course. |

How about obstructing traffic? In some US states, there is a MINIMUM speed limit for freeways if conditions allow it. |

Why avoid the obvious, you were doing 93 in a 70 limit. Points and a fairly substantial fine. How much will depend where your case is heard. |

Depends on where you live for example if you live in Texas the fine will be $350.00 dollars and if you live in Virgina the fine will be between $3000.00 to $5000.00 dollars...... |

So you were going 93mph at the time? From what I understand, it's $10 for every mile over the speed limit so I'd say a grand total of $230! |

Hopefully they will throw the book at you for being so bl**dy stupid to speed in the first place.
I actually think, ( but don't know for certain) there is a possibility you may get an automatic disqualification, but certainly will pick some points up.
