You may have a bench warrant for your arrest, have your driver's license automatically suspended, and be found responsible for the ticket by default.
Happened to one of my students-her daughter ran a red light in her car, ticket came to the house in Mom's name and was thrown out by the daughter. Another ticket was issued, same result. Mom had a warrant out for her arrest, was stopped by an officer for speeding, was arrested and spent the night in jail. Car was impounded and towed. She hired a lawyer who gave her bad advice, paid the ticket, and ended up in my class.
Total cost:
$1500.00 for bad lawyer
$ 200.00 for ticket
$ 100.00 for night in jail
$ 150.00 for towing and impound
$ 50.00 for traffic school
Paying your ticket or dealing with it... priceless... |

The county that issued the ticket will put out a warrant for your arrest. Its usually best to just deal with the ticket. |

usually a bench warrant will be issued by the judge for your arrest at least that's what they do in illinois |

The court issues a warrant for your arrest. This means the next time you run into a police officer, he will place you in handcuffs and take you to jail. |

if you dont mail in the amount , or fight the ticket, eventuall, a warerent will be issued, but right now, depending on what state, u didnt show up in court, u lost, thus ur points deducted, possible insurance notified. then givin by state an amount of time to make restatution. |

The advantage of going to court (probably just seeing a magistrate) is that there is a good chance you can get your fine reduced and if your state uses the point system, fewer points off your license.
If you fail to show or pay then they will issue a warrant but they will not make much effort to find you. However, the next time you are stopped for ANYTHING by a cop and he does his little computer check, it will show that you have an outstanding arrest warrant, and you will have a tough time convincing that cop that you aren't doing something wrong. He'll cause you some trouble for sure.
And don't think you can get away with something because you don't live in that state. A lot of states have arrangements with each other where they share information. |

In the state of Louisiana the courts issue a "Bench Warrant"
which is a warrant for your arrest. You need to call and get it taken care of and your fine will be a lot higher now that the warrant has been issued then it would have been before, due to more court cost!!! get it taken care of before you get arrested!! |

Just pay the ticket..... the best thing is if you've agreed to go to court, is go, sometimes, the Police officer doesn't show up, case is thrown out..... If he or she shows up, plead no contest, pay your fine and its over and done with. If you have already let both windows of salvation pass, call the court ASAP and make arrangements to pay up, don't go to jail for a traffic offense. It will come back to haunt you, like when you want to get a job. |

Could be a warrant for your arrest, for skipping the court appearance, and even for not paying the fine. |

The warrent is issued and they may not come looking for you but if you ever get pulled over by the police again, you will definitely be arrested. Plus if you don't resolve it and move to another state, that state will not issue you a drivers license. |

Usually a court will issue a warrant for your arrest. Its a bad move. Just pay the ticket, you do not want to spend a weekend in jail. |

After the time passes for you to have dealt with the ticket, you get a warrant for your arrest..then, if you have ANY dealings with the police (like if they stop you because your headlight is burned out), they will arrest you. |

They issue a bench warrant. But go to the Court Clerks Office and explain.
A simple "traffic ticket" can be taken care of without too much hoopla if you are polite and apologetic enough.
Come across as a "dumb ***" if you have to but whatever it takes to humble yourself. Just say it was a very terrible over-sight on YOUR part. That it just slipped your mind and you will pay whatever the fine is. But don't give a lame excuse! Be believable!
This has happened to ME! So I just showed up on the NEXT court calendar date as if I was suppose to be there on THAT date.
The officers all laughed and said that "well she couldn't have been trying to get out of it since she showed up in court."
They charged me $9 for NO PROOF OF INSURANCE! |

They'll suspend your license, and failure to appear does result in a bench warrant in most states. |
