I recently got a traffic ticket with a 2 point infraction. I have not received the letter from superior court yet. I have looked online about infractions and have read that for a 2 point infraction you can not go to traffic school to take away charges. So I want to know if this means i will get a fine and have higher insurance cost per year. I do have a court date. I'm really nervous, I feel this whole situation that led up to my ticket happened so fast and I wasn't allowed to explain myself. I really don't think it was that bad. Well i look forward to responses.

If you have a two point infraction ticket you will be fined, your insurance will increase and you will receive points on your license for this. Traffic school will not take these points away or the fines. The best thing to do is plead guilty in court, pay your fine and move on. There isn't much you can do at this point. Just make sure you are driving safely from now on. If you are caught again, you will get more points on your license causing a possible suspension of your license. And if that happens, then you will have to repeat traffic school. |

Well you can explain in court. If you had gotten points for parking etc no big deal, a moving or dangerous violation will be found by your insurance company. each has its own policy and may or may not nail you right away. |

You could just get a attorney and have them plea it down to defective equipment. You still have to pay a fine plus the cost of the attorney. But it's then a non-moving violation and will not go on you record.
I think my insurance co. keeps records for 3 years so you figure there gonna see it at some point. You may as well pay the extra money now and never worry about it again. Where I'm at you can do a couple a year like this. |
