Would the DMV take it if I have my parents sign it. Cause I have alrady taken drivers ed?

Which State are you trying to get your drivers license from? And how old are you? If you are in California, the 20 hours from a licensed driving instructor is required, because they will issue you a Certificate of Completion of Drivers Training, which is a requirement in order to take the behind-the-wheel drivers test before you are 18 years old. Now, if you will be turning 18 years old within 6 months, then renew your permit, and wait till you turn 18 years old, and you will not need the Certificate of Completion. Unfortunately, if you want to take the test before you turn 18 years old, you will need to look for a licensed Driving School to provide you the behind-the-wheel training. The signature on the permit is really for your parent(s) or Driving Instructor is sign to signify that you completed all the required training (including drivers training) and that you are ready for the drivers test. |

If the letter says you must take the driving test with your instructor then you must follow the rules. The purpose of having the driving instructor in the car is to monitor your progress. They are the officials that relay any good or bad information back to the DMV. If you do well then you will be eligible for your license. It is just so that they DMV can have an official give their response based on how well or poor you did. Besides if your parents were to be assigned, then the DMV would not have a record of the information, because they don't know if you are being truthful. The DMV trusts their official so therefore you must go by what the requirements are. |
