What if someone did a burnout on their driving test?

I'm guessing instant failure would immediately come to mind... but I heard some testers felt so impressed by the student that they just passed them right on the spot.

I would guess it would depend on the instructors sense of humor, but you would probably fail. When taking my motorcycle exam years ago on a Ninja 600, I was so nervous when he said "go" on the slalom course I toated the front wheel a good six feet! He just waved his arms and said slow down. It's a funny story now but I was scared to death then.

Burnouts are illegal, you fail. Why would reckless driving impress an instructor?

Go for it; and if you can do a couple of donuts and a handbrake 180 in front of their office I hear they give you a Chauffeurs License too. As Bill Engval would say "here's your sign".

Somehow I don't see that as being quite as entertaining as it sounds.

You would not want to do it if I were your instructor. Driving is a serious privilege that's abused by most poeple and public roads is no place for doing stupid car stunts.

The thing is - most folks who like to burn tires and do other stuff of similar nature really believe it shows them off as drivers of tough skill - yet its completely the opposite. A true messiah does not disclose his identity - a good driver would not do this and respect goes to the good driver.
