A pelican crossing is a type of pedestrian crossing featuring a standard set of traffic lights with a push button and two coloured lamps for pedestrians using the crossing. The official name is Pelicon crossing (short for PEdestrian LIght CONtrolled crossing).

A zebra crossing is a type of pedestrian crossing used in many places around the world. The crossing is characterised by longitudinal stripes (hence the term, named after the zebra) on the road, parallel to the flow of the traffic, alternately a light colour (usually white) and a dark one (painted black, or left unpainted if road surface itself is of a dark colour).

a pelican crossing is traffic light controlled.

a zebra crossing is just lines painted on the road, with beacons, for pedestrians to cross safely.

called zebra as it is black and white stripes.

It's different from a zebra crossing because it's a pelican.
