well a stop sign means you need to stop or you could could hit some one and that will cost you and a yield you need to yield the right away because if you don't you could hit a car or even people so drive safe and it will save you money

If you ignore both of these signs you're asking for trouble to happen. You're very lucky that you haven't been in a car accident or other related accident. When you see a red octagon shape, this means stop, and you NEED to come to a full stop, and look in ALL directions very carefully before you precede through. With the yield sign this is an upside down triangle shape, and you can only go if it is safe to do so.

1. a stop sign is a red, hexagonal sign that usually turns up on residential neighborhood streets. when you come up to a stop sign, you are supposed to stop, look to see if no other cars are coming, and then you go. the whole process takes about 2-3 seconds.

2. a yield sign is similar, only this sign is triangular and usually shows up at highway on-ramps. when you come up to one, you are supposed to stop to see if no other cars are coming, and then you are free to merge. if cars are coming, then you are supposed to yield (stop) and let those cars go by, and then you merge.

if you ignore those signs, you are increasing your chances of a car accident, especially at the freeway on-ramps with the yeild signs.
