If you are going to drink, and have no way to get home after drinking other than to drive, you need to change your plans somewhat. Either do not drink, change the location of your drinking to somewhere that you can get home without driving, or find a place to sleep it off. You have a truck. Put a camper shell on the truck, toss a bedroll in the back, and sleep in the truck!
Find a motel room within walking distance of the bar, and check in there prior to going out drinking.
Have a friend who does not drink drive you home!
With a little planning, you can avoid a lot of trouble! |

well, you should always have a back-up before you are drunk (i.e. a friend). If you go out there and hurt somebody, you and the victim's family will have to live with the choice you made. |

Go drinking with friends! You must know someone who likes to party, but doesn't drink a whole lot. You could also simply crash at someone's place. |

Before you go out to drink, have a plan in mind. Set a goal not to get so drunk that you can't drive, but if you do, have a designated driver in mind that you can call to get you home. If the desiganted driver plan doesn't work, take your keys put them where you can't get to them right away (in the glove box, on the floor, in a cubby hole, etc) & crawl into the back seat or passenger side & sleep it off before driving home. Then, when your head clears up, you can drive home or if a police officer checks on you while sleeping, he/she will have a difficult time charging you with a DUI. Good luck!! |

Call a friend, have a designated driver, get a motel room, walk, don't drink so much that you can't drive, stay where you are until you can drive..... so many options so little brain cells. |

It's always better to have a designated driver, but if it's just you that won't work. If you have a friend in the area, call them. If not, ask the bartender or manager for help in getting a ride home. Or call your local police/sheriff and ask them to send someone to take you home. Trust me, they'd much rather do that than have to come scrape you (or some other innocent party) off the road. Whatever you do, please don't drive drunk -- it only takes a split second to ruin your own life, or that of someone else. Think about it before you get behind the wheel. |
