Definately lack of seat belt. Your chances of survival are much higher when you wear your seat belt. Another big factor is tire failure. When your tire detreads, it causes many of the rollovers that kill people, always check your tire pressure, especially before a long trip. Avoid buying an SUV, they rollover twice as much as a regular car. Of course, avoid drinking and driving. |

NEGLIGENCE... If nothing was ever being subjected to negligence( like attention to safety considerations, preventative maintenance, sleep patterns, hazardous conditions, substance abuse, irrational thinking) then the incidence of accident overall would be reduced by an enormous margin. This would be due to responsible thinking; and, there's a word for it: ATTITUDE... With the proper attitude from everyone, accidents could become mostly just mishaps, instead of crises... |

The federal agency (NHTSA?) says it's distracted driving. The distraction can be anything, from changing a radio station to dropping a cigaret to talking on the phone.
Of course, you have to ask who they asked, who was distracted, and who decided that was the factor.

I would think drunk driving but I think not paying attention is up there on the list also. Speed ( I like to call this STUPID!) and then I would say lack of experiance. |
