hopefully a ban and a fine boyracer

IF it took the picture and proceedings are taken against the driver (you?), previous answerers who anticipate the standard £60 fine/ 3 points are wrong. That level of breach will be viewed as a serious speeding offence and will NOT be dealt with by fixed penalty. The matter will be referred to magistrates court who have the option of banning (unlikely) but also (more likely) of imposing a penalty of up to 6 points on the licence and a fine of up to £1000.
Unmaitre - if you think insurance no claims protection guards you against a hike in insurance premium for getting a serious speeding conviction, you are very sadly mistaken.... it protects against the need to make claims. The clue is in the title. Sheeesh...

Maybe you will be lucky and there is no film in the camera !! but if not it is an automatic fine and points , usually 3. If this is a first offence on your licence the fine will not be as large if it was 2nd ... 3rd ...But it will still cost you .
Take it from me I found out about speeding when I was hit in the pocket . Not only with fines but it also affects the premium on your insurance for the number of years the points stay live on your licence . I re assessed my driving style and now drive within any limits even when the road is clear , sometimes it is hard , but more sensible.
Hopefully if the camera was empty you can use this as a warning and drive with more road care. Good luck

taxed till i die,
You get busted.A fine and points on your license.Have a nice day.

Depends if the camera had film in it!If not then your a lucky guy.If it did then its 3 points and a 60 quid fine.

I read one time that only 1 in 7 speed cameras are real, although there's a high chance you wont get caught, you should still expect a fine

Penalty points for definite and a fine perhaps worse, that's if the camera took a piccie, half of them don't they are just to frighten you.

dave c
hopefully a hefty fine and points on your licence
maybe you will slow down in future

£60 worse off. Dont worry though, you pick up 3 points and once you collect 12 you get a free toaster!

a ticket for 22 mph over the limit!!!

unmaitre
i would say i depends what area and what time of the day it happened. take it from me i had loads in the past and only one speeding ticket so far....haha. the max you could have get away with is probably 61 mph unflashed.....but definitely as many others would tell you, its likely you might get a ticket and few points on your licence. in which case you'll have to let your insurance company know about it consequently increasing your preminum unless you had a no claims protection!
hope this helps

simple 3 points and a £60 fine . the camera may not be active . so you will have to sweat it out . may i suggest you get a camera detector before you loose your licence!!

jane
I'd say 6 points and a hefty fine, but as people say maybe there was no film alot of them are just there to deter people.

Anyway let us know when you get your comeuppence!!!!!!

Unfortunately you will receive a summons from the court. You can plead not guilty and go to court and plead your case or fill the summons in pleading guilty and receive a £60.00 Fine and 3 points on your licence.

i can only hope that you were an of duty police officer. of a police oficer that was testing a new car out. Then you will get away with it. As we all no and they no they will get away with it every time. Other than that it was a real emergency. Then go to court and explain why you were driving at such high speed. And of course if this was the case. You should have no problem in providing some kind of proof. Apart from that. Slow down befor you kill some one. And wait for a fine and 3 to 6 points on your licence. And dont forget a much higher insurance preium when it's next due. Happy motoring.
